Welded metal and assorted household items
In the summer of 2006 I was commissioned by
theatre director Elizabeth Carlin-Metz to build a set piece for the Vitalist theatre production in Chicago of
“Mother Courage and Her Children”. I built the cart out of a metal bed frame and various metal scraps using
a Dada theme. I worked with the set designer Craig Choma to produce the final set piece
as seen in these two photos.
Here is the cart on the stage with the actors from “Mother Courage”.
These two photos were taken in the Knox College Art studios before the cart
was delivered to Craig Choma for his additions to the set piece.
